DIY MIDI Active Sensing Filter ============================== PACKAGE INCLUDES ---------------- asfschem.gif the schematic asfpic.jpg picture of the built device asf.bin software for the microcontroller asf_readme.txt you read it DESCRIPTION ----------- This simple MIDI device filters off unwanted active sensing data and MIDI timing clock from a midi data stream. The device is selfpowered through the midi cable and does NOT need any battery or power supply. It can be build into a little screwcase. Pricing for the parts should be round about 10US$. If anything went wrong in building the device it will not work but (normally) nothing will break. Of course there could be some cases where this might happen but I was not able to figure these out. ####################################################################### # The microcontroller AT89C2051 is a cmos device, so handle with care! # This mc needs to be programmed with the software ASF.BIN enclosed in # this zip archiv and should be plugged into a DIL-socket. # # If you are not shure how to build up the device let it do someone for # you!! ####################################################################### If you have no programmer for the microcontroller try to email to some hobby electronics in internet near your location. I'm shure they will program it for you for little or no fee. PARTS NEEDED: ------------- 1 plastic-screwcase about 6x5x3cm 1 little piece of printed board with solder points 2 MIDI build-in sockets 1 ic socket DIL 20 2 diodes 1N4148 1 microcontroller AT89C2051 (programmed) 1 crystal 12MHz 2 capacitors 33pF 1 elko 4,7uF/10V 1 elko 47uF/10V 2 resistor 150 Ohm 1 resistor 220 Ohm 1 resistor 2,7 KOhm screws for the MIDI sockets and a few cm cable.
