      I got an E-mail from Kawai US today about the K5000X and they said that it was
      not "slated for production" due to lack of interest. This info was from their
      product/sales department so I guess they're probably filled in on the real scoop.
      If anyone else was holding out for one of these they might want to try to grab a
      K5000S while they're available and cost so little. With the money you save on the
      K5000S you can buy a good General MIDI module and not really be missing out on
      anything.

      i asked kawai about the reason for the sam ash blowout.
      the reply i got back was that the "shelf life" of the K5000 is up. there will be
      no further production of the K5K S and the K5K R.
      the W will continue through next year.

      other than the new stage piano, he made no comments on what the next synth
      product would be.

      i hope we can still get another OS upgrade out of them.

      anyway, if anyone want a second one K5000S then apparently this is the time to
      get it.
